Aberglasney Gardens Tearoom Review on a Sunny Afternoon

This Aberglasney Gardens Tearoom Review reflects a wonderful afternoon spent enjoying excellent food, friendly service, and stunning lakeside scenery on Sunday 24th May 2026 at Aberglasney Gardens.

After spending the morning walking around the beautiful grounds in temperatures reaching between 24° and 27°, we were ready to sit down, cool off, and enjoy some refreshments. Fortunately, we found the perfect shaded table beneath the canopy with peaceful views across the water, colourful plants, and surrounding gardens. The scenery looked absolutely beautiful in the warm sunshine and created such a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

Before visiting, we explored the impressive grounds, flowers, and seasonal displays around the estate. More visitor information can be found on the official Aberglasney Gardens website.

Friendly Service During Our Tearoom Visit

The service throughout our visit was excellent. Staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive despite the tearooms being busy with visitors enjoying the bank holiday weekend. The relaxed environment made it easy to unwind and simply enjoy the moment.

Lunch in the gardens quickly became one of the highlights of our day in Carmarthenshire. Sitting beside the lake while enjoying the sunshine created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing afternoon.

Fresh Food at Aberglasney Gardens Tearooms

For lunch, I chose the Greek salad along with a refreshing elderflower presse, which was perfect for such a warm day. The salad was fresh, light, and full of flavour, while the elderflower drink was wonderfully cooling after walking around the gardens.

My friend Gareth ordered the ham and cheese toastie with a cider and commented on how fresh and beautiful the ham tasted. Meanwhile, Rachel also chose the Greek salad served with focaccia and paired hers with a lemonade, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

The food felt light, fresh, and ideal for a warm summer afternoon spent outdoors.

Tea, Cake, and Relaxation by the Lake

We stayed there for quite some time, relaxing with tea, cake, laughter, and plenty of conversation. One of the nicest parts of the afternoon was chatting with visitors from various countries who were also admiring the peaceful surroundings and enjoying the warm weather.

The peaceful atmosphere beside the water made it easy to relax and fully enjoy the sunshine and scenery surrounding the gardens.

Homemade Cakes at Aberglasney Gardens

Although we had already sampled delicious Welsh cakes earlier in the morning, the tempting cake selection in the café was impossible to resist. Rachel and I eventually chose the lemon and raspberry cake, which was absolutely lovely — light, fruity, and perfect with a cup of tea.

However, I must admit I was slightly jealous when I spotted another visitor enjoying a traditional scone with jam and cream, which also looked incredibly tempting.

The homemade cakes on display looked beautiful and added even more charm to the overall experience.

A Perfect End to Our Aberglasney Gardens Tearoom Review

The tearoom experience perfectly completed our day at Aberglasney Gardens. Between the excellent food, friendly service, relaxing atmosphere, and breathtaking surroundings, it was the ideal place to escape the heat and simply enjoy a peaceful afternoon in the Carmarthenshire countryside.

We would happily return again for another summer lunch overlooking the lake and gardens. The combination of beautiful scenery, fresh food, and relaxing surroundings made it a memorable part of our visit to West Wales.

I would highly recommend both the gardens and tearooms to anyone visiting the area, especially on a warm summer’s day.
