The Green Room in Swansea

Where Good Food Meets Fresh Air in COPR Bay

If you’re into discovering new spots with a chilled-out vibe and outdoor seating, The Green Room in Swansea’s COPR Bay is definitely worth a look. It’s a bar and kitchen by day serving breakfast, brunch and lunch—but by night, it shifts gears and becomes a pre-gig hangout with live music and good energy.

The space inside is modern and bright, with seating for around 60, but if the sun’s out, the outdoor area is where you want to be. With the marina not far away, it has that coastal-city feel that’s perfect for a catch-up or weekend treat.

A Long Overdue Catch-Up

I met up with an old friend who works for the NHS—one of those meetups that’s been on the cards forever. His partner had recommended The Green Room, so we decided to check it out for a late brunch.

It was a great choice. The area feels fresh and new, and the vibe is relaxed but upbeat. You can tell it’s one of those spots that’s becoming a go-to for locals and visitors alike.

What We Ate

I went for the Smoked Salmon & Eggs—listed as smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and chives on toasted sourdough. I swapped the scrambled for poached and added mushrooms. The kitchen got it wrong at first and served scrambled, but the staff were lovely and quickly fixed it.

One small thing I noticed: another table also had a mix-up with their order. So maybe there’s a bit of a communication issue between the floor and kitchen, but it was handled well.

To drink, I’d planned on trying the pink lemonade, but it wasn’t available. I settled for a Pepsi Max instead—no big deal.

My friend ordered the Brioche Brunch: streaky bacon, sausage patty, fried egg, cheddar, and chilli jam in a soft brioche bun. He added fries and had a pumpkin spice latte on the side. His plate looked stacked, and he gave it a big thumbs-up.

Price Tag vs. Location

Like most places near the marina and in new developments, it’s not cheap. You’re paying partly for the food, partly for the setting. That said, for a special brunch or a sunny weekend out, it feels worth the splash.

It’s not an everyday café, but it’s a good one to keep in your back pocket for those “let’s do something different” kind of days.

The Green Details

One thing I really liked is that The Green Room is making an effort to be sustainable. They’re cutting down on single-use plastics, using compostable cups and napkins, and plan to keep improving on the eco front.

It’s always a bonus when a place serves good food and cares about the planet too.

Would I Go Back?

Definitely—for the setting, the menu, and the laid-back vibe. It’s a lovely spot to unwind, especially if the weather’s good and you can sit outside.

Just keep in mind it’s better for a treat than a quick grab-and-go. And double-check your order when it arrives!
